OUTINGS & DAY TRIPS 2025

Outings are offered to members from their own suggestions or places of interest the organisers think will be successful. Members sign up at the monthly meeting for a trip in which they want to participate, when payment is required to secure the booking. We try to cater for a wide spread of interests and are mindful of any needs for any disabilities.

In 2024, we attended a guided meditation at the Madhyamaka Kadampa Meditation Centre; Burnby Hall Gardens; a stained glass workshop in and shopping trip to Scarborough; two private tours of Trinity House in Hull; Breezy Knees Gardens in Warthill; a walking tour of the Fish Trail in Hull; a day trip to Lincoln; and 2 days of shopping at McArthurGlen Outlet Mall in York.

Our 2025 outings and trips focused on feeding the mind and the body, with a real focus on history.  A trip to the Bar Convent in York enabled us to understand religious experiences when Catholicism was outlawed in the UK; a walking tour of Hull allowed us to explore its Blitz experience and a trip to Eden Camp commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two; and trips to the winery and vineyard in Aike provided wine tasting and a delicious afternoon tea.  The year ended with a shopping trip for some pre-Christmas shopping in York.

Trips are open to every member of our U3A and have been a good source of making social contacts especially when new to the area.
